Animal Honours Awards 2022
We are pleased to announce the second edition of the Malta Animal Honours Awards organized by the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights, the Parliamentary Secretariat for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Animal Welfare, in collaboration with the Office of the Commissioner for Animal Welfare.
This is an opportunity to not only celebrate our four-legged friends and our feathered friends, giving them an opportunity to shine, but also to acknowledge the persons involved in all aspects of creating animal welfare awareness and those that live it on a daily basis.
The public is invited to send their stories explaining why the animals and persons nominated should win the category they are nominated for. Nominations will be received up till Monday 1st August 2022. A board of Judges selected by the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights will review the nominations and short list three candidates for each category. These will then go for a public vote and the most popular nominee will be the winner of the category.
Short listed animals and their respective caregivers will be invited together with the nominated people to attend the awards ceremony which will take place on Tuesday 4th October 2022, in celebration of World Animal Day.
In the first edition of the Awards, a total of 501 human nominations and 290 animal nominations were received by the final date of submissions.
